Following Jesus in Everyday Life

Hi! We are Mel, Tim and Steph. We are the Intergen Team for Mission Resourcing (part of the Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of South Australia).

Mel and Tim’s roles focus on intergenerational discipleship particularly for children, youth, young adults and their families. By “intergenerational discipleship” we simply mean people from different generations, engaging together to follow Jesus in everyday life. We resource local church leaders in these ministry areas so they can encourage young people as followers of Jesus.

We are super excited to welcome Steph to the Intergen Team, in July 2020, as the Intern Year Coordinator. Intern Year is an exciting program that partners with local congregations to cultivate and grow young Christian leaders for life-long discipleship.

We hope this blog inspires and encourages leaders in ministry with children, youth and young adults and their families. We then hope this provides opportunity for discipleship at home, either through sharing resources or encouraging connections from church leaders with families and young people.

Our plan is to post once a week. We will be writing blogs which could be a simple reflection, a resource or a book review as well as offering links to the great stuff others produce that we want to share with you.

Please let us know if there’s anything in particular you’d like to hear about or a resource you’re in need of. We’d also love to hear your stories of how you are encouraging young people to follow Jesus as we’d love to share your good news stories too.

It’s great to have you here and we look forward to catching up and getting to know you.

Mel, Tim and Steph are based at the Brooklyn Park campus (which includes Uniting College) of the Uniting Church Synod of South Australia.  We work part-time across various days of the week whilst also enjoying family life with our young children (currently between our three families we have 5 children, ages 6 to 1 years old, with one more on the way!).  We all enjoy good coffee.
